Welcome to the Library
The library is your German knowledge center and you can access it through the Library menu.
Here you'll find all the theoretical content needed to understand grammar rules, language structures, and fundamental concepts you need to master.
From a crash course for absolute beginners to advanced grammar lessons, every resource is designed to be clear, concise, and easy to understand.
What You'll Find Here
The library contains lessons organized into the following categories, all accessible from the menu:
- Crash Course from Zero: Six intensive lessons that take you from your first words to building basic sentences, mastering declensions, and pronouncing correctly.
- Parts of the Sentence: Learn to identify and correctly use the subject, predicate, object, and circumstantial complements in German sentences.
- Parts of Speech: Explore each grammatical category in depth: from articles and pronouns to interjections, understanding how each type of word functions in German.
- Verb Tenses: Master the conjugation and use of the six German verb tenses: present, simple past, present perfect, pluperfect, simple future, and future perfect.
- Verb Moods: Understand when and how to use the indicative, subjunctive (Konjunktiv I and II), and imperative to express different nuances and situations.
- Declensions: Understand the German case system (nominative, accusative, dative, and genitive) and how to apply it correctly to articles, pronouns, nouns, and adjectives.
- Numbers and Metrics: Learn to express dates, tell time, use measurements, and master the German numerical system in all its forms.
How to Use the Library
Each lesson is designed to be self-contained and can be studied independently. However, we recommend following a logical order: start with the crash course if you're a beginner, or go directly to the grammar sections if you already have a foundation.
All resources include examples with native pronunciation audio, so you not only read the content but also hear how it's pronounced correctly.
Recommended Learning Strategy
Currently, this website focuses on training and reinforcing the learning you're already following (in a course, at school, etc.).
In the coming months, we will be developing our own learning paths according to specific objectives: complete step-by-step general courses at different levels, preparation courses for specific goals (preparing a trip, improving professional skills, challenges...).
That said, we recommend working to acquire this basic set of knowledge:
- If you're starting from absolute zero, begin with the Crash Course.
- Build a basic vocabulary set with the 100 nouns, 50 verbs, 25 adjectives, 10 adverbs, and basic prepositions and conjunctions.
- Do some vocabulary exercises at the most basic level without worrying too much about the results yet.
- Start studying the most fundamental library lessons (Parts of the Sentence category).
- Return to step 2, expanding your vocabulary to the basic lists (250 nouns, 100 verbs, etc.).
- Return to the basic exercises. This time you should practice until you can consistently pass them (+75% or more correct answers).
- Study the basic verb tense lessons: Introduction, Präsens, Präteritum, and Futur.
- Study the lesson on numbers and metrics.
- Study declensions. Do the declension exercises.
- From here, you can continue iterating on your own with higher-level exercises, new lessons, etc.
